The 1992 Simpsons episode, “Homer at the Bat” got higher ratings than The Cosby Show and the Winter Olympics. Nine pro baseball players recorded voiceovers over the span of a season as their teams passed through L.A. to play the Dodgers and the Angels. It’s the episode in which Homer creates a Wonder Bat out of a tree branch that was stuck by lightning.
